  9. AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 360)
    • Specification Manual for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 360)
  10. AISC Code of Standard Practice Structural Steel Buildings & Bridges (AISC 303)
    • Framework for acceptable standards when contracting for structural steel. Specific provisions are contained in the contract documents, the existing trade practices are standard customs on industry and are incorporated into the contract.
  11. ASTM E23, Standard Test Methods for Notched Bar Impact Testing of Metals
    • The test methods of impact testing relate specifically to the behavior of metal when subjected to a single application of a force resulting in multi-axial stresses associated with a notch, coupled with high rates of loading and in some cases low temperatures. Results of impact tests on notched specimens, when correlated with service experience, can accurately predict the likelihood of brittle fracture.
  12. ASTM A6, Standard Specification for General Requirements for Rolled Structural Steel Bars, Plates, Shapes, and Sheet Piling
    • General requirements for rolled structural steel bars, plates, shapes, and sheet piling. The steel shall be made in an open-hearth, basic-oxygen, or electric-arc furnace followed by refining metallurgy in a furnace.  Tension tests (UTS & YS) and chemical analysis shall conform to the required mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, metallurgical structure and composition of each product.
  13. ASTM A370, Standard Test Methods and Definitions for Mechanical Tests of Steel Products
    • Test methods to determine the specified mechanical properties of steel, stainless steel, and related alloy products for the evaluation of conformance of such products to a material specification under the jurisdiction of ASTM as designated by a purchaser in a purchase order.
  14. ASTM A673, Standard Specification for Sampling Procedure for Impact Testing of Structural Steel
    • Method deals with the standard sampling procedures for impact testing of structural steel. Including longitudinal Charpy V-notch testing, two testing frequencies, (H and P), frequency (H) heat testing, and frequency (P) piece testing.
