Chemical Analysis

Amray 1830
Energy Dispersive X-Ray

WJMG has a Energy Dispersive X-Ray Detector (EDX) available for determining element analysis on small regions of interest on your parts. This is very helpful for determination of failure regions chemical properties of fractured assembly. Backscatter can also be used to help show the different element regions in the fractured assembly.

Niton XLT
Element Analysis Testing

WJMG has an Niton XLT element analysis testing equipment that can detect element composition in base metal or weld metal in materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, tool steel, and any other types of alloy. This analyzer does not require a sample to be removed from a part to test and identify the material.

Optical Emission Spectrometer

WJMG has an ARL 3460 Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) that can detect element composition in base metal or weld metal in materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, hastelloy, and any other types of alloy. If the sample of choice is metal fillings, wire, or small samples WJMG can produce a sample using their eclectic ark furnace.

Microbiologically Induced Corrosion
MIC

WJMG has the capability to determine Microbiologically Induced Corrosion (MIC) with the following test Acid Producing Bacteria, Sulfate Reducing Bacteria, etc. This test can detect the critical composition that makes MIC attack base metal or weld metal in material. The sample can be large or small WJMG has the ability to report the conclusion for you.Â
