Bolt Testing
Bolt Testing
WJMG can conduct bolt testing using tension or torque to validate the minimum values required for a specific bolt. An axial tensile test load is put upon to find the engineering stress and strain then converted to true stress and strain after test is complete.
Bolt failure analysis is also a part of the capability’s WJMG has to offer. When it comes down to determining why a bolt may have broke. The process including visual and microscopic analysis of the bolts, fracture surface analysis to determine the mode of failure and initiation point, electron microscopy, chemical analysis, and/or mechanical testing, depending on the scope of what you need.
